Desire in Non-Narrative Lit

This course will explore French and Francophone theatre and poetry through the lenses of identity and desire. We will in particular examine notions of self and of other as they are set in play through various dramatic and poetic texts, including, but not limited to, those of Labe, Racine, Baudelaire, Tremblay, Cesaire, and Schwartz-Bart.
