Digital Filmmaking

For beginners to advanced, Digital Filmmaking presents the foundations of fiction filmmaking: from lighting and camera work to editing, sound and working on set. In the first part of the course, students recreate scenes from well-known films. In the second part, students script and shoot their own short films. This class is appropriate for filmmaking newbies as well as for those who wish to deepen their understanding and practice of the craft. The skills learned in this class will help students gain a foundation in media skills increasingly in demand across many majors and in the job market. The course counts toward the 6-course minor in Film Studies.
