Course Description
An overview of microbiology with emphasis on bacteria and viruses. Lectures will focus on the structural and functional characteristics of prokaryotes, the diversity, growth, and control of bacteria, and the structure and infectious cycle of DNA and RNA viruses, with special attention to those organisms that cause disease in humans. Particularly recommended for students planning careers in medicine and other health-related professions.
