Course Description
This course traces the processes that influence human development across the lifespan, from infancy to old age. What are the cognitive, emotional and social behavioral milestones that occur at each significant stage of development? In what ways do human beings change as they get older, and in what ways do they stay the same? What early experiences can influence later developmental outcomes? The major theoretical perspectives that help illuminate the developmental process, as well as the experimental and quasi-experimental methods of study, will be emphasized.
