Course Description
This course introduces Japanese drumming, exploring its origins and subsequent development as a national art form following WWII, and then its ultimate spread globally as a voice of Asian-American activism. The course emphasizes performance on the drums and culminates in a final concert and performance project. No previous musical experience is required.
