Course Description
This course is about the financial markets that facilitate trade and investment in today's global economy. We will learn about the balance of payments, exchange rate determination and exchange rate regimes. Emphasis in the course will be placed on understanding the events currently happening around us: including the widening U.S. current account deficit, dollar depreciation against the euro, China's reluctance to float its exchange rate, and the financial crises in Asia and Argentina.
