Course Description
The course will cover both macro and micro aspects of technological change. Topics include: Exogenous growth models, innovation-driven Schumpeterian growth models, creative destruction and the economy, competition and market structure, valuation of Research and Development (R&D) and patents, patent litigation and enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs), innovation, technology diffusion in the global economy, and design of IPR regimes and R&D policies.
