Course Description
This class is geared towards deepening students' understanding of Cambodian history, culture and contemporary society. During Winter term (prior to the beginning of class in Spring term), there are two weeks of instruction designed to give students academic background on political and economic development, and a brief primer on 20th century and contemporary Cambodian history, politics, economy, and society. However, the core of the class is the experience in-country during Spring term. This will consist of classroom study, lectures by in-country experts, excursions to learn and interact with the broader society, and will help students to excel in their internships with local NGOs.
