Course Description
This class will examine various perspectives on The Vietnam War, or, as the people of Viet Nam call it, The American War. In our archeological exploration into the nature of knowledge about this period in Viet Nam/U.S. history, we will not privilege one perspective over another. Rather, we will examine the diverse political, ideological, and moral positions from which various groups, such as the U.S. government, U.S. soldiers, U.S. citizens, the North Vietnamese people, and the South Vietnamese people, perceive this historic conflict.
