Course Description
Vienna was the center of European art music from the late eighteenth century through the early nineteenth century. This course examines music by Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, as well as many less-known figures. Students come to an understanding of Vienna at one of the city's greatest musical heights through a study of symphonies, string quartets, operas, and piano sonatas.
