Course Description
What does U.S. history look like if we consider it a Latin American nation? This course explores the history of El Norte through the eyes of border-crossing, indigenous communities, Spanish settlers in the South and West, and the Latin American and Caribbean immigrant populations that have made their homes across the country since its founding. We end with a particular focus on Latin American and Latinx communities in 21st -century New York.
