Course Description
Examines the factors that affect the distribution and abundance of plants including the availability of water or nutrients, interactions with neighboring plants or animals, and the frequency of disturbances such as fires. Topics also include such environmental issues as climate change, exotic species invasions, the conservation of rare species, and the benefits of urban nature for human health. The weekly lab includes field excursions and quantitative data analysis.
