This course explores the dynamics of active plate boundaries and plate motions as revealed in plate margin deformation, earthquakes, volcanic activity, and metamorphism. Includes an introduction to stress and strain, deformation mechanisms, faults and folds, geochronology, and petrology of distinct rocks in convergent settings.
