Cultures in Contemporary Spain

What is a nation? We will develop complex answers to this question as we explore the case of Spain, a plurinational state where the definition of nation is under constant debate. To do so, we will examine narrative, essay, theater, film, political documents, news, and television shows from culturally and linguistically distinct regions of Spain. We will analyze these texts through the lenses of various theories of nationalism.
