Course Description
Students will explore fictional works from at least three cultures. Emphasis will be placed on exploring the art of narrative - considering the ways stories get told and the reasons for telling them. Attention may be paid to such concerns as narrative point of view, storytelling strategies and character development, the relationship between oral and written narrative traditions, and narrative theory. Particular attention will be given to developing reading and writing skills. 100-level courses are open to all students. Course Types: HUL, HUM, WAC
