Course Description
This course examines representations and practices of human-animal relations across cultures. It will begin with examining beliefs about the nature of animals across cultures, including the ways they are similar to and different from humans. We will then look at the many varying relationships between humans and animals in different cultures and will show how these are shaped by social systems
