Course Description
This course examines America's involvement in what would become the Vietnam War from 1945 to 1975. It explains why Americans tried so hard for so long to stop the spread of Communism in Indochina and why they ultimately failed. As the course progresses, its focus moves from the high policy of diplomatic and military strategy to the experiences of ordinary people on all sides of the conflict.
