Course Description
This course provides students with an introduction to the field of political economy. Political economy seeks to analyze how political and economic forces interact in shaping public policy. We will take an interdisciplinary approach to understand how political economy theories can be applied in various real-world cases from both economic and political perspectives. Topics include the theory of institutions, market failures, externalities, public goods, industrial policy, international trade, market structure and the economics of antitrust law.
