An overview of sociological theory and research concerning juvenile delinquency and youth culture. Analyzes causes of juvenile delinquency, current strategies to control delinquency, perceptions of youth crime and contemporary youth problems. In addition, the course considers the strategies young people historically employ to counter situations of deprivation, alienation, and isolation
