Playwriting

This playwriting course will focus on the creation and development of original and adapted dramatic work. Students will study basic techniques of structure, dialogue, character-development, story-telling, theatricality and creative voice. Students will generate and rework scenes in and out of class. As a playwriting lab, students will workshop, critique and help develop each other's craft through creative writing exercises and prompts. The class will conclude with staged readings of polished work.
